Welcome to my website!
A little bit about me: I’m a German girl who now calls beautiful New Zealand home. Since I was a little girl, I’ve always been into crafts and sewing, and over the last few years I’ve been working towards turning my passion into a small business. The result is right here: Stutzi Design.
Why Stutzi?
Stutzi is a nickname derived from last name, Stutzmann. It’s unique and a little bit cute (at least in Germany!), which is exactly the philosophy I put into all the pieces I create.
My Inspiration
Sewing and painting are like meditation for me.
We all lead such busy, hectic lives, that it feels almost peaceful to sit down and work on something creative, even if it’s a tricky or complicated piece.
I love creating something new from something old, which is why I try to use as much recycled material as possible in my creations.
Having spent most of my time living near Coromandel and Bay of Plenty beaches, I take a lot of inspiration from the colours of nature and natural fibres to create totes, yoga mat bags, surfboard slings, cushions, and anything that fits with the vibe of simple living.
